Jersey TechAwards – How to strengthen your award submission

With less than a week to go until submissions close for the annual Jersey TechAwards, the focus now is on turning your nomination into a clear, well-evidenced submission.

A strong submission is less about the volume of content and more about making sure what you’ve written is easy to understand and clearly shows the value and impact delivered.

Strong submissions don’t try to say everything. They make it easy to see what changed and why it mattered. Here are three simple ways to strengthen your submission:

  1. Be clear on the problem
Start with the challenge. What wasn’t working, and why did it need to change? Setting out a clear starting point helps judges quickly understand the context and makes the impact easier to recognise.
  2. Focus on outcomes, not just activity
It’s not just about what was done, it’s about what improved as a result. Did it increase efficiency, reduce cost, improve accuracy or enhance user experience? The stronger the link between action and outcome, the more compelling the submission.
  3. Use real examples and evidence
Testimonials and real results are key to an effective submission and add credibility. They show the real-world impact from the client or user perspective and help bring the work to life in a way that’s easy to relate to.

Often, the difference between a good submission and a winning one is clarity. When the problem, the outcome and the supporting evidence are easy to follow, the impact speaks for itself.

We focus on delivering change that works in practice and creates real impact, and the same principle applies here. The strongest submissions show how technology has been used to solve real problems and deliver measurable outcomes.

As sponsors of the Productivity Award, we’re looking forward to seeing the range of work being recognised across all categories this year.
